How to Sustain Enlightenment: A Deeper Look into the State of Pure Consciousness
The Misunderstanding of Enlightenment
Do enlightened beings need to remind themselves that they are not their bodies?
Enlightenment is not a trophy to be won or a state to be maintained. It’s an all-encompassing reality.
The quest for enlightenment often starts with a misconception. People imagine it as a state to be achieved, a goal to be reached.
Yet, the moment you view enlightenment as something to sustain, you’ve strayed from its essence. Enlightenment isn’t about clinging to a certain state. It’s an unshakable realization of your true nature, beyond the limitations of mind and body. This insight shapes how you approach life, transcending intellectual understanding into a living experience.
Consider my personal transformation. Stricken by a mental breakdown in 2007, years of despair unfolded, but a sudden awakening on October 16th, 2019, revolutionized my perspective.
It was a radical non-duality realization, an enlightenment that transcends maintenance.
We Perceive The Sky as Blue
Enlightenment is a natural, ever-present awareness.
Just as you don’t need to remind yourself that the sky is blue, an enlightened being doesn’t constantly affirm they are not the body. Take a renowned mystic from history, Ramana Maharshi. He embodied this truth, living in a state of continuous self-realization without effort.
Identification with the physical form may arise, but these are temporary phenomena within the vastness of pure consciousness.
It’s seen for what it is.
Practices That Ground the Realization
Meditation, yoga, connection with nature — these are not means to sustain enlightenment but to ground this realization in daily life.
My daily integration routine includes nature walks, yoga, meditation, and breathwork. These practices align me at the stage I’ve actualized, but they don’t sustain a state of experience. Practices guide the enlightened perspective to be a living experience, not an intellectual understanding.
A Beacon of Understanding
Enlightenment is not an end but a continuous journey of understanding.
Misconceptions abound, and part of the realization is debunking them. As an enlightened being, my mission is to serve as a beacon, illuminating the path for others. Misconceptions lead to confusion. A clear comprehension of non-dualism, mysticism, and self-realization can light the way.
Enlightenment as a Living Reality
The stage of enlightenment is not something to cling to, but rather something to live.
It’s a recognition that becomes a lived reality. Instead of seeking to sustain a particular state of experience, embrace the stage of enlightenment where you find yourself. Embrace practices that align you with your true nature.
View enlightenment as an unfolding journey, not a static destination. Remember, enlightenment isn’t about maintaining a state but living the profound realization of your timeless identity.
The practices you adopt and the way you approach life will reflect this understanding, making it a living reality rather than a concept to be grasped.
